Car history:
This 1969 Chevy Corvette 427 Tri-Power scored over 96 total points when receiving its NCRS Top Flight certification. Since the restoration, the car has only been driven 360 miles and has been kept in a climate controlled garage. The restorer of the car did rather extensive research during the process and tracked down all six previous owners and spoke to all of them regarding what was done to the car during their ownership. All parts were documented, and from the radiator to the rear end, the car is all original with the exception of the following parts, which were replaced with date coded correct parts. The intake was warped and was replaced by the second owner, the smog equipment was removed by the first owner and the distributor was replaced. The radio was replaced by the second owner, however, and correct and working unit is now in its place.
The car received a completely photo documented frame off, nut and bolt restoration and is ready to show or keep as an addition to any fine collection. All of the glass is original and in excellent condition. The frame of the car has been detailed to exact factory specification and the serial number has been stamped in two different locations; behind the #4 body mount and about 12 before the #3 body mount. The job number 126 is also stamped next to the gas tank, on the firewall floor front, and on the front inner fender panel in front of the tire. Both the paint code of 988 and the interior code of 421 are correct for the car.
The interior components are all the original parts with the exception of the seats and the carpeting. The door panels are date code correct, the center console and dash are original, and even the gauges in the dash are date code correct for the car. All of the gauges are in proper working order, and the fiber optic lights in the center console work correctly as do the red warning lights above the radio.
The engine is the born with, matching numbers engine for the car and has all date code correct components. Per knowledge obtained from the original owners, only the intake, alternator and distributor are not original parts that came with the car, but they were replaced with correct parts during the restoration. The transmission is the matching numbers unit with a serial number to match the VIN and a build date preceding the build of the car. The rear end is the date code correct unit as well. The gas tank is the original for the car, but actually has the tank sticker from the car built right before this car, #0525, a special order 435 HP car. An effort was made to track down the owner of the car during the restoration but nothing came of it. Most likely either #0525 or #0527 has the tank sticker for this car, if they even still have their original tanks. The sticker was photo documented and is still on the tank.
